Away Bag: Full Review

Okay, I can’t lie. I am head over heels for my Away bag. First of all, it’s pink. I mean, that was honestly what won me over when I saw their pink carry-on a couple of years ago. Now, I got the bag for Christmas and since then I have mainly used it for weekend trips. My trip to Arizona was the first trip where I used it in the airport and wow, it is so much better than my other bag.

To start, the wheels are amazing. It rolls so well and is easy to spin around and roll in any direction. Although it’s a hard shell on the outside, I find it to be flexible enough where I can sort of “stuff” the suitcase if I need to. The shell has a bend to it, so I never worry about it cracking.

Although my parents got me the “bigger” carry-on, it fit perfectly in the overhead bin on both flights. I found this size to be ideal – I was able to fit all the clothes I needed for the trip. It even has a laundry bag inside that snaps in. So, you can put it away (lol) when you’re not using it and it doesn’t take up any space – but it was perfect to put my dirty laundry in as the trip continued! Plus, the laundry bag is water resistant, so if you ever put a bathing suit in there you would be absolutely fine.

The organizational piece of the bag might be my favorite thing, now that I own it. There are two sides – one side is perfect for neatly folding your clothes. You’re able to easily and neatly “clip in” your clothes, with a sleeve perfect for an iPad or any extras you need. The other side is designed for hard items, like shoes or your hair dryer. By clipping in your clothes and zipping in the harder items with the “mesh” side of the suitcase, you end up not wrinkling anything or crushing your favorite booties. I just found it to be a win-win all around, and an easy packing situation!

Lastly, the Away bag has a TSA approved lock. I was able to easily set a code so I felt confident that my stuff was protected (just remember to write it down – Away can’t help you open the bag if you forget the code!) Plus, there’s a removable battery right in your suitcase – it’s easy to take out if your flight asks you to and just slip in your purse as a portable charger. I found it so useful in the airport when we weren’t able to sit by a plug.

Do you love your Away bag as much as I do?
