Brooklyn Wandering

A couple weeks ago, we spent an afternoon wandering around Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Similar to my day in Northampton, it was incredibly refreshing, despite any rain that seemed to follow us. My friend Kelly, who I’ve known since high school, works at the cutest little soap shop, Soap Cherie, and I could not recommend it more.

For starters, they have the most adorable display of soap in the shape of cakes and cupcakes, looking both useful and delicious (yes, I know they are not edible.) It was such a creative, clean and welcoming shopping environment. I honestly wanted to buy two of everything! My friend Kelly had been telling me about the shop for a while, and even if you’re not in New York, their scrub/lotion sets are available at Nordstrom online (along with 35 Nordstrom locations!) Plus, all of their products are toxic free, SLS and paraben free, and vegan. Even more importantly for me, they’re animal cruelty free.

It just so happened that my cousin Laura had just had a baby when we visited the shop, my new little cousin Jackson (He is so perfect!)  I bought three GAP onesies for him (Linked here, here and here) but had been feeling like I should get something for her that could, hopefully, help her have some time for herself. Jake actually is the one who spotted this blue revitalized bubble bath soap in what looks like a wine bottle. We paired it with blue and pink bath bombs and soap in the shape of a cupcake. She loved the bottled soap, and I just couldn’t help but feel like it was a perfect gift multiple occasions!

Chelsea Rain Boots are J. Crew, Bag is J. Crew, and Rain Jacket is from L.L. Bean – the non-fleece lined version, which is great for summer. All of the above are rainy day essentials for me!

In addition to working at Soap Cherie, selling amazing soap products, Kelly is so talented in floral design. She found this piece of wood washed ashore on Coney Island, and turned it into a literal masterpiece for the shop. If you want to check out more of her work, follow her and her flower shop on instagram. I was seriously in awe of all she does! I am so looking forward to seeing more of her work as her career continues!

I couldn’t recommend their products more, or Kelly’s talents! If you can, stop by the shop in Williamsburg, or one of your local Nordstrom stores, to see their work in person! Plus, they smell so lovely!
