My Snow Day Routine

As someone who works at a school in New England, I have had a lot of snow days this winter. You know I love my bean boots, but I’m ready to trade them in for my Jack Rogers. I’m itching for summer, and am seriously hoping snow days may finally be behind us.

Despite my disdain for the wintery mix, I’ve gotten into a bit of a snow day routine. I know most people like to sit around the house on a snow day but I find these days to be some of my most productive. For me, a snow day is always wayyyy more productive than a weekend. Usually, I already have plans for a Saturday, and unless a big test is coming up, I try to keep my weekends ‘homework free.’ SO, for me, a snow day is just a more relaxing version of a weekday.

I try to let myself sleep in on a snow day but, honestly, they don’t always call it until 5:30 in the morning. I’m the kind of person where, once I’m up, I’m up for good. So usually I just get up, have my coffee, and get started on my typical morning routine. Once I’m in my L.L. Bean Flannel and J.Crew New Balance Leggings, the perfect snow day gear, I get to work:

  1. First I try to eliminate any immediate homework. I use my bullet journal to keep track of what’s most important. Luckily, I’m only in a couple classes right now, so I don’t always have anything too urgent coming up. Even if it’s just catching up on readings, I like getting this done first because it makes the rest of my day so much more relaxing!
  2.  I usually take a snow day to look at anything financial. As someone trying to save up for New York City life, I like to make sure I’m putting enough money into my savings every paycheck. I take a snow day to take a look at the numbers and figure out what I may need to make things easier on myself down the road. My bullet journal actually helps me a lot with this, because I’ve created an expense tracker for each month. Don’t know what I would do without it!
  3. I take out my dogs! Super simple, but definitely a huge help around here. Gracie likes to be let out pretty frequently, so taking her out a few extra times a day makes her so much happier. Bella honestly couldn’t care less, especially when there’s snow on the ground. I mention more about these two with snow in this blog post, but these dogs are definitely the greatest, and snow is probably Gracie’s favorite thing in the world.
  4. Poshmark! I take my snow days to go through my room, and update my Poshmark closet. Being a Lifestyle and Fashion blogger, I have a lot of clothes that I’m either not wearing anymore or have never worn at all. Anything in good condition I list on Poshmark. Check out my closet or make one for yourself! I have been having so much fun with it. It really helps to get my whole room organized and make me feel like there’s a lot less clutter.
  5. Write a post! I love using a snow day to organize future blog posts and figure out what’s coming next for you guys. I’m so grateful for how supportive everyone is, and I’m having so much fun on this blogging journey. Since this is (hopefully) my last snow day for the season, I thought this would be a perfect way to end my wintery-blues.
