The Wishlist: For The Guys

Despite Cyber Monday (sadly) being over, I know that the majority of you totally haven’t finished your holiday shopping. Personally, I’ve always struggled shopping for most of the guys in my life. I always know exactly what to get my Mom and sisters, but my Dad and Jake like all the tech stuff that I just don’t keep up with. However, if you find just the right “non-tech” item, they’re always just as happy! 😉

Keep in mind, gender is totally binary and, honestly, these gifts could be for anyone! Make sure you try to think of what the guy in your life really loves. I’m all about keeping gifts as thoughtful as possible, so here are just a few ideas based on the boys I’m buying for.

Also! Side note: How adorable is this town house in Gramercy Park? When I was going to NYU, I lived in a dorm right in Gramercy (it was actually called Gramercy Green…), so this very expensive neighborhood definitely feels like home. Goals, am I right?

  1. Honestly, this goes for anyone. I don’t care who you are, you deserve a pair of Wicked Good Slippers from L.L. Bean. They’re handmade, and unbelievably comfortable. I wear mine literally every single day, and they last you for years. I own a pair in the brown, but both my Dad and Jake have moccasins in this Chocolate Brown Color. ($79)
  2. The nerd in my life loves his Nintendo Switch. He’s always been a video game guy, but Nintendo is his forte. Jake bought this for himself right after his birthday, and he still l o v e s it. If you have a video game guy in your life, especially a Nintendo one, this is a must. ($299.99)
  3. BEAN.BOOTS. For sure. Jake switched to the goretex ones this year, and he is already so much happier. Spending the extra money on this pair is totally worth it. If you want more information on Bean Boots, check out why I think Bean Boots are a New England Staple. I bought these for both my Dad and Jake as Christmas presents, and they both were equally thrilled. ($149)
  4. If you’re looking for something much cheaper, Bath and Body has a men’s line with tons of scents (Or buy from the original line – who cares? Good smells are for everyone!) Jake happens to love the Ocean Scent from the Bath and Body Men’s line. ($12.50)
  5. There is literally no better duffle than an L.L. Bean Duffle bag. I happen to love this adventure duffle, especially in the grey heather. Plus, you can add a monogram for $8.00 (Or for free if you have an L.L. Bean Card!) to make your gift that much more personal. ($69.95)
  6. Who doesn’t want a comfortable bathrobe? This fleece lined one is divine. I happen to like the grey, but the red one is very festive. This one is a little pricey, but really high quality. Everyone should have a comfortable bathrobe for those lazy Sunday mornings. ($99)
  7. Get. Him. Moisturizer. I’ve said it a million times, everyone should be using moisturizer. This is the one I use, and it’s really gentle. Even just buying the 1.7 oz. will last you a while, so it’s really worth the money. ($16-$47.50)
  8. Flannel pajamas are a must, especially on Christmas morning. I’m all about the cozy clothes, and these L.L. Bean pj’s are merry and bright! Such a good choice for the pajama present portion of Christmas morning. ($64.95)
  9. Interestingly, both Jake and I have this L.L. Bean Pullover, and I swear I wear mine all the time. It’s great for a casual hangout, or to wear under your jacket while you’re skiing. It’s pretty standard and extremely comfy. Once again, if the guys in your life don’t have one, it’s definitely a must. ($79)
  10. Wireless headphones are where it’s heading guys – nothing we can do about it! Time for an upgrade…definitely snag these Apple AirPods while you still can (I hear everyone is trying to get them..) ($159)
  11. Also, for those of you afraid of losing those tiny AirPods, a pair of on ear wireless beats are always a good choice. These black Solo 3 ones are classy and sleek. ($299.99)
  12. Flannels are a staple, my friends. I’ve mentioned before how often I wear mine, either with jeans or leggings. Jake wears them even more than I do – they’re easy, comfortable, and literally last you for years. This one is perfect for the season! ($49.95)
  13. Looking for a cool iPhone case for him? Jake’s obsessed with this case from Carved, and he gets compliments on it all the time. (We literally had a waitress at our favorite sushi place ask for him to write down the website for her!) The wood on the back is real, but it has great protection all along the sides. He uses this Walnut one, but there are several others with intricate designs carved in the back of the case! ($24.00)
  14. Almost always, both Jake and my Dad are wanting belts. Personally, I love the J.Crew ones. You can find great belts at Nordstrom, Macy’s and J.Crew (Depends on what you’re looking for!) This one happens to be from J.Crew, and is pretty standard.
  15. Lastly, this looks not only cozy, but classic. Truthfully, I want this long sleeved polo  for myself. It reminds me of the long sleeve traditional striped rugby shirt I bought from L.L. Bean this summer, which was also in the Men’s section. You can see me wearing the rugby shirt on my Instagram here and here. ($34.95)Let me know in the comments what you think or what you want to see next!
