Wine & Good Company

This past weekend, I visited my friend Caley in Cambridge, Massachusetts! I always love when the two of us are able to have a girls weekend and, this time, we changed things up by driving to Newport to check out Newport Vineyards. Caley had already been once before for her sister’s bachelorette weekend and, to be honest, the tasting was the perfect place for the two of us to catch up.

Caley and I met freshman year of college at a school that neither of us were really happy at. Ironically, although both of us ended up transferring, she is still one of my closest college friends. To be honest, going through the entirety of the college transfer process probably helped both of us become even closer. She would visit me in New York and I would take the bus to her in Boston at Suffolk. Thankfully, I’m at the point in my life where I can just drive to visit her in Cambridge – I get so bus sick!

Regardless, Caley has always been a great listener and an incredibly loyal friend. Without getting too sappy, I feel very grateful that the two of us have been able to stay so close over the years! It’s pretty insane to me that we are approaching our sixth year of friendship…! P.S. She’s also a blogger with a focus on balance and simplicity! Check her out! 🙂

It’s funny to think back to the times where we literally were bored out of our minds freshmen year of college. Isn’t that sad? I had so much fun for the rest of undergrad but we both felt trapped on our small campus and craved city life. The two of us would end up leaving most weekends to either visit our boyfriends (Who are both still the same! Look at that, we made it! lol) or see a friend at another school. We used to talk endlessly about what we wanted for our careers and college life – now, it feels like a dream that we not only made it there, but further!

Dress is Gap V-Neck Print Shift, currently they don’t have this pattern in stock. HOWEVER they have it in a ton more colorful patterns, including this red beauty. Plus, all colors are on sale for Labor Day! Also, heads up, I’m wearing a small here! I usually opt for the medium, but this dress definitely runs big.

My Jack Rogers are the Silver Hampton Navajo. I just love them! Actually, I purchased this pair on Poshmark (more info on that in previous post here) Unfortunately this leather handled L.L. Bean tote is no longer in stock. However, I’m dying for this one with the rope handle. How cute would it be monogrammed?! Plus, L.L. Bean is 25% off for Labor Day weekend!

Being at the tail end of my grad program, a short getaway this weekend was so needed. If you’re ever in Newport, definitely check out the winery, because I personally thought the tasting was such a great experience. We were right by the window, so we had an amazing view of the vineyard, and it was the perfect environment for catching up with a good friend.

All photography taken by Caley.

How was your Labor Day weekend? Did anyone else spend the weekend in Newport?
