Rainy Day Essentials

As we get closer to Spring, rainy days are becoming pretty typical. In past years, I would always reach for my Hunter Rain Boots (which I still ADORE – they are red, shiny and beautiful), but my tall ones just aren’t something I can wear all day at work. I needed something I could wear in the classroom as well as around town.

Personally, I feel like I found the perfect boot. These J.Crew Chelsea Rain Boots are not only stylish but they are unbelievably comfortable. I achieved my 10,000 steps in these things walking around New York City, without already having broken them in, and they worked perfectly. Plus, as I typically find with J. Crew, they are true to size! I’m wearing a size 7. Even the little tag on the back of the shoe makes taking them on and off really easy – something that’s not always so true with a taller rain boot. These beauties are 30% off this weekend with the code: SOGOOD

As far as rain coats go – the fleece lined rain jacket from L.L. Bean is a go-to. The one I am wearing here is actually a men’s (thanks for sharing, Jake!), but theĀ exact jacket comes in women’s as well. I own the non-fleece lined version and, after wearing this one, I have to say it is totally worth the extra money to go for fleece lined. It is so much warmer and more practical for rainy days on the East Coast. Right now, until 2/20/18, you can get this jacket for 25% off with the code: GET25

Personally, when it’s a rainy day, I like to travel as lightly as possible, so I usually go for buying a small, compact, umbrella. However, I’m also big believer in investing in a good umbrella, particularly in NYC when the wind blows open every cheap one I’ve ever bought. The last two I bought were the Mini Pocket Umbrella from J. Crew (I am loving this navy ivory pattern right now!)

What do you guys think? Do you have a umbrella brand you always use?
