Winter/Spring Layering

So, usually in the colder months, I find a lot of bloggers focus on layering. From sweaters, to cardigans, to button downs for work. However, I know I’m layering well into spring. As an New England girl, I know we can have snow well into March, and having something cute, comfortable and cozy is necessary. We’re already in this weird limbo period where we transition from heavy coats, to sweatshirts, to back to heavy coats. So, I felt like a little bit of layer inspo just might be needed. 😉

We had a particularly sunny day in East Harlem last weekend, and I didn’t even need to wear a coat. Still wasn’t the summer dress weather I’m looking forward to, but I was finally able to layer this J. Crew Brooklyn crew neck I’ve been dying to wear. (Yeah, I know, it’s ironic I was wearing it in Manhattan!) I find that it runs a little small, so I’m actually wearing a large so it’s ideal for layering. Honestly, I know I’ll be wearing this crew neck on those colder summer nights with a pair of chino shorts. Maybe these ones in honey brown I just ordered? (Also I DID NOT know the model was wearing this sweater before I linked that, obviously I like J. Crew a lot…)

I decided to pair it with my new Old Navy flannel. You guys know I usually go to L.L. Bean for my flannel wear, but Old Navy won me over with this light weight classic shirt. It’s ideal for spring, and I know I’ll be wearing it on it’s own a ton in the coming months. It feels so soft, but isn’t overwhelming when it’s a little warmer outside. With spring coming, they’re really running out of colors and sizes, but I went for the large again just because I love length when it comes to wearing flannels with leggings. (Let’s be honest, this is going to be my new go-to leggings flannel for when I’m watching tv and eating barbecue chips but at least I’ll look cute right?)

I paired the look with my J. Crew Chelsea boots that I mentioned in my Rainy Day Essentials (seriously – great city shoes) because there were still a lot of puddles lingering about.

What do you guys like to wear in this limbo between Winter/Spring?
