Relaxing Labor Day

This long weekend has been so relaxing – my parents and Grammy came to visit this past Sunday and it was so nice to have them see the apartment (mostly) furnished. Usually I’m the one driving to my parents house, but it was particularly great for my Grammy to be able to see where I had moved to. The first thing she said when she got out of the car was “I thought you lived in the country – not the city!”(lol) She definitely had a different perception of where I had moved to, but I think she also really enjoyed seeing the views from our balcony and what our building was like. It was really special to have her come here and I hope she’s able to do it again ASAP.

Sam spent the night and we drove her to all of the surrounding towns – we showed her all the walkable downtowns with nice stores and restaurants, showed her the local Farmers Market, and we enjoyed a fire on the rooftop at night. It was really nice not to travel this weekend, as we find ourselves doing that a lot lately, but we still got the opportunity to spend time with family. I miss having coffee chats with my parents every day, so it was really lovely to have them in my own living room drinking coffee and chatting together.

Sam and I accidentally matched!!!! Jeans are Gap (a new favorite pair!) – they are also 40% off for Labor Day! Shirt is Gap and shoes are Jack Rogers. Of course, Apple Watch band is from Etsy! Also, this table is used literally every day in my apartment – we love it so much!

I love spending time with family and I hope that more family will be able to come visit soon…! (Shoutout to my other older sister/cousins!) The next few weeks are looking super busy, so I’m enjoying my lazy Monday with a Trader Joe’s run (not so relaxing – so crowded on holidays!) and a little afternoon HGTV. Jake and I are looking forward to cooking some salmon tonight and continuing to chill out before another work week! 🙂 Typically, I travel Labor Day Weekend, so this was definitely different than the norm for us this time of year. However, this summer was so travel heavy, that we were really looking for this much needed downtime.

How was your long weekend? Did you get a chance to relax?
