Winter Blues Push Through: Week 1

Alright so, honestly, I’m pretty proud of my accountability with myself this week. This was the first week where Caley and I did our “Winter Blues Push Through” challenge in which we wanted to make sure we found ourselves moving every single day. This is something that doesn’t really come easily to me, and I’m really happy that I decided to make the move (lol) and make sure I was really getting my body moving. I have been feeling particularly “eh” lately, and definitely wasn’t giving my body what it needed.

I was really proud, because I managed to close my Apple Watch rings 5 out of 7 days this week. Although not perfect, this was a major turn around from previous weeks. I barely was meeting my calorie goal before, and this week I exceeded it most days. I also was making sure to walk, even on colder days, through my town. Most days I did at least two miles, but a couple days I hit the four mile mark! I really never felt like doing it because it’s, obviously, winter and, therefore, cold. BUT I did – and that makes me, already, a lot happier.

Shoes are by J.Crew! Absolutely love them – the navy and rose gold combo is perfect!

The first day, I pushed myself probably a little too hard. I did a two mile walk with Jake, and then also did intervals of push ups, crunches, and lunges. This is something I used to be able to do pretty well back when I had to do work out club for acting, and I really want to start feeling stronger. I managed to do those intervals a couple more days throughout the week, which made me feel unbelievably sore, but also really good! Friday was sorta my first “fail” day. I managed to exceed my active calorie goal, but did not achieve the amount of minutes that counts as “exercise” on my Apple Watch, so that was a bummer. But, I’m letting myself relax on this Sunday and take a break from working out. But I will be right back at it tomorrow!

Already, I think exercising more frequently has been helping me feel more positive. It also really helps to be doing it along side Caley, because I have a friend that is helping me motivate myself to move! Make sure to share with us how you’re moving by using the hashtag #winterbluespushthru in your social media! 🙂

What have you been doing this week to make it through your #winterbluespushthru? I was so proud of myself for closing my rings!
