Winter Blues Push Thru: Final Reflection

We did it! Caley and I finally finished our #Winterbluespushthru challenge. It’s safe to say that we both definitely had our own set of goals when it came to this four week challenge. For me, it was all about getting myself moving again and, despite the set back I had last week, I think this challenge was honestly exactly what I needed to get myself out of the rut I was in earlier this season. Despite not really losing any weight, I think just simply getting myself walking again and doing some basic strengthening exercises helped me become happier.

My pullover is my favoriteeee L.L. Bean Fleece Pullover – (Unfortunately, now they only carry this color block pattern in kids, but this is the pullover I am wearing in women’s – I love the pewter grey color, and it’s on my wish list!) Lipstick is my new favorite shade, 9-5 by Beauty Counter

The first two weeks, I was really rocking this challenge. I was taking it to the full on extreme and making sure I was moving moving moving moving. I was taking the challenge really seriously and making sure that I was always closing my exercise rings on my Apple Watch, exceeding the 30 minute goal. However, by week three, I got myself a little burnt out. I didn’t meet enough of my movement goals, and I was feeling a little “meh” about how well I was doing.

SO this last week, the final week, I think I finally found my happy medium. I was able to close the movement rings on my Apple Watch three days this week (almost four) and did well on my calorie goal the remainder of the days (just not that pesky green exercise ring!!) Honestly, this was good enough for me. I am doing significantly more than I was before the challenge started, and I’m not making myself completely crazy to get it done.

Even more importantly, I think this was the perfect thing to do with one of my best friends. It really didn’t matter that the two of us were doing things at different paces (newsflash: if you didn’t get it already, Caley is a lot more athletic than me!) – we supported each other through the whole thing. As cheesy as it is, this was super helpful to me.

Based on this experience, I have a new goal. I want to lose weight for summer – I’m adding a healthier diet to the mix, and seeing if I can make myself just feel good. In all honestly, I really do just want to feel healthier and happier – the #winterbluespushthru challenge was the perfect start! Plus, now it’s so much warmer!!!

How did the #winterbluespushthru challenge go for you?? What are your new goals for the warm weather?
