Gratitude This Season

This weekend, I was lucky enough to get to spend time with my best friend Pj (and Jake too!) We aren’t spending New Years Eve together for the first time in forever, so we really wanted to try to find a way to get some holiday time with each other if we could. It was tough to squeeze it in, but in the end we made it work to make a quick trip to Boston. We made cookies, went holiday shopping, hung out around the Christmas tree, and played card games. It was a quick 24 hour visit, but it really felt like such a kick off to the upcoming festivities. We laughed a ton and even had some serious reminiscing on the last decade together. We went through old photos, talked about how much had changed, and what we were looking forward to in 2020. After all, we will need plenty of more themed parties…!

I feel a lot of gratitude to have a life long friend in Pj, and I also felt like we all really had a serious appreciation for the holiday season and what comes with it when we left. It makes me realize all I’m grateful for – both friends and family, my apartment, my job….and a whole lot more. Everything was super simple and spontaneous, we hardly planned anything but dinner reservations at Besito, and yet everything went pretty much perfectly.

I’m sure I’ll have a full fledged Christmas post soon, but I just had to note that it really is my favorite time of year. <3 I had a perfect weekend and I’m so so so so looking forward to the festivities during the next two days. As always, it’s going to be absolutely magical!
